 Microwaved Khaman Dhokla 

Khaman Dhokla is a very popular Gujarati dish. Dhokla is also a very healthy dish which is a plus point.   It is steamed and not fried and is thus healthy. Dhokla is garnished with coriander/ curry leaves ,  or green chillies. Green chutney and a steaming plate of Khakhra is relished by Gujaratis during breakfast. (However, I am not Gujarati. :D).This is my neighbour's recipe. She sent me a boxful of them. She told me she made it in  microwave. I was really excited and tried it immediately. So my compliments to the neighbour.( :D) (Don't forget to comment or subscribe! Njoy!!)

Microwaved Khaman Dhokla


For Dhokla

  • Gram flour - 11/2 cup
  • Sugar - 2 tsp
  • Curd - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • Green chilli (minced) - 2
  • Fruit salt - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste

For tempering:

  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Green chillies (slit) - 5/6
  • Few curry leaves
  • Sugar -  2 tsp
  • Vinegar - 1 tsp


For Dhokla:
1. Beat all the ingredients of dhokla together.Grease the microwave safe dish.
2. Pour this mixture in a microwave safe dish and microwave for 5-6 mins. at 100% power. 

For Tempering:
1. In a microwave safe dish place oil, mustard seeds, slit chilli,curry leaves and microwave for 2 mins. at 100% power. 
2. Add 1 glass of water. Microwave for 2 mins at 100 % power. 
3. Add sugar and vinegar.
4. Pour this mixture over the dhoklas. Cut int pieces.
5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and grated coconut.
