Chocolate Pancakes

I was suddenly in the mood for an English breakfast today, having watched Black Beauty with my family yesterday. The story is just too inspiring and the stallion too black and graceful !! Just then I got a brilliant idea-pancakes!! I like the sweet ones more than savory ones and I love chocolate. So, this chocolaty English breakfast was just what I needed. Topped with chocolate syrup and a pat of butter, this is perfect for kids too. Hope you like it! (And don't forget to comment or subscribe! Njoy!)

Chocolate Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • Eggs-1
  • Flour- 1 cup
  • Baking powder- 1 tsp.
  • Milk- 3/4 cup
  • Salt- 1/2 tsp.
  • Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  • Butter- 1/2 cup
  • Sugar- 1 cup (Less/more can be used, according to taste)
  • Cocoa powder- 1 tbsp.
  • Grated chocolate- 2 tbsp.
  • Chocolate syrup- (for topping)

Method:

1. In a large bowl, stir all ingredients except topping with a wire whisk until well blended. Now heat a non stick skillet over medium heat.Pour or brush with oil .
2.  For each pancake , pour a laddle ful of batter into the skillet. Cook for 2-3 min. until bubbles appear on the top and the edges turn dry. Flip and cook the other side till golden brown around the edges.
3. Drizzle pancakes with chocolate flavoured syrup and topped with a pat of butter and chocolate candy sprinkles.(I used only chocolate syrup).


Bubbles can be seen at the surface.

Choco-Cookie Milkshake-Beat The Summer

The scorching heat of summer can finally be felt. The temperature of Kolkata has become very high. During daytime, going out of the house is really tiring and stuffy. Sitting in a air-conditioned room, sipping a cool refreshing drink feels like Paradise. Almost everyone loves chocolate, so this drink is the perfect one for the hot Summer season as well as for children. Hope you like it! (And don't forget to comment and subscribe! Njoy!!) My ingredients

Ingredients:


  • Oreo cookies-12
  • Milk- 2 cups
  • Vanilla ice-cream- 4 scoops
  • Sugar- 1 tsp.
  • Chocolate syrup- 8 tbsp.
  • Ice cubes- As required

Method:

1. Mix all the ingredients- 10 Oreo cookies, milk, vanilla ice-cream, sugar, chocolate syrup and ice cubes in a mixer/blender. Keep aside.
2. Remove the cream from between the biscuits. Crush them to use later as a garnish.
3. Serve chilled. Garnish with the crushed cookies. Njoy! :)

Chocolate Pudding

Chocolate pudding is a very easy dish and you can surprise your family with this yummy dish anytime. This desert is rich and creamy and melts in your mouth giving a rich chocolaty taste.You can make and relish this delightful taste of chocolate with this very easy recipe at home. Try it out and I'm sure you all would definitely like it. So, just N'joy!!!

Chocolate Pudding

Ingredients:


  • Thickened milk - 1/2 litre
  • Sugar - 5/6 tbsp
  • Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
  • Eggs - 2 
  • Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • Choco chips - 3/4 tbsp

Method:

1. Beat the eggs nicely in a mixing bowl.
2. Add the beaten eggs and sugar to the thickened milk and whisk nicely.
3. Next add the vanilla essence and cocoa powder and mix gently so that it turns smooth.
4. Grease a square pudding mould with butter and sugar and put  in heat. When it caramelises pour the milk egg mixture and cover loosely with a foil and steam in a pressure cooker without whistle.
5. When steam starts coming out, check the clock and steam for 10/15 mins.
6. Remove from the cooker and allow to cool.
7. Unmould the pudding and shift to a serving plate and refrigerate for 1-2 hrs.
8. Garnish with choco chips and serve chilled.

Well, this New Year , we celerated with loads of fun, wonderful fireworks, a cool latenight New Year party,   delicious food and a Black forest Cake . So, you can say I was pretty busy. It is a bit late, but I wish you all a belated, happy and prosperous New Year !! I'm going to be giving you all the recipe of black forest cake which is loaded with chocolate,cream and cherries. Ingredients :


  • Maida/Flour- 2 cups
  • Eggs- 3
  • Vegetable oil- 1/2 cup
  • Sugar- 2 cups
  • Icing sugar- 1 1/2 cups
  • Vanilla essence- 1 tbsp.
  • Cocoa powder- 1/2 cup
  • Milk- 1 cup
  • Sour cherries- 2 cups
  • Baking powder- 2 cups
  • Baking soda- 3/4 tsp.
  • Cornstarch- 1 tbsp.
  • Salt- 1/4 tbsp.
  • Whipped cream- 2 1/2 cups

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease and flour a nine-inch square baking pans and cover the bottom with wax/butter paper.
2. In a bowl, mix flour, 1 cup sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, 1/2 tsp. vanilla essence. Beat well till nicely mixed. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
3. Bake for 35 minutes on the middle rack or till a toothpick/fork inserted in it comes out clean.
4. Let it cool on the wire racks for 10-15 minutes. Remove racks to cool completely.
5. Drain some cherries. collect the juice-around 1/2 cup. Combine the drained juice, some more cherries, white sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Cook over low heat, till the sauce thickens. Add some vanilla essence and remember to cool before usage.
6. Combine whipped cream and sugar in a chilled bowl. Beat well till it hardens. 
7. Top the cake with chocolate curls which can be made by using a potato peeler to peel the chocolate. Fill a piping nozzle with the whipped cream and sugar mixture. Frost the edges of the cake and put a cherry at regular intervals. Viola!! Our black forest cake is ready !

Microwaved Chocolate Chip Muffins

Well, sorry folks but I was really busy for a few days of Christmas so could not post anything for a few days. Picnics, Christmas parties, cakes and bakes kept me pre-occupied. However, in the midst of all of this my daughter did find time between her hectic teenage life to bake something. She loves muffins and she wanted to make some.So, this whole recipe was hers. She did everything by herself, even the pictures were taken by her. Hope you like it ! (And don't forget to comment or subscribe ! Njoy !!)

Microwaved Chocolate Chip Muffins

Ingredients :


  • All Purpose Flour/Maida-1 cup
  • Baking Powder- 1/4 tbsp.
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of Baking Soda
  • Icing Sugar- 1 cup
  • Butter- 50 gms, melted in microwave (For best results)
  • Eggs- 2
  • Vanilla essence- 1 tbsp.
  • Lukewarm water- 1/4 cup
  • Chocolate chips- 2-4 tbsp.
  • Cocoa powder - 1 tsp. (Optional)

Method:

1. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
2. In a seperate bowl, beat eggs and to it add vanilla essence, butter and icing sugar and cocoa powder and fold gently.
3. Now slowly pour the sifted flour mixture to the egg mixture and mix gently. If required add lukewarm water to the mixture.
4. Fill the microwave muffin maker with this mixture till 1/4 of its size and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
5. Put it in the microwave on high for 2 mins. 
6. When done cool them for 10 -15 mins. and Njoy!

Chocolate cake with rich Chocolate frosting

Chocolate cake- One of the basics of baking . But the frostings and moistness matter the most. The cake should be firm enough so that it does not crumble while cutting. Well my frosting is very rich so those who are dieting, restrict yourself to this cake. The creamy and delicious frosting will be enjoyed by all. Birthdays, parties,dances- This is the perfect sweet dish. Njoy! (And don't forget to comment or subscribe!)

Ingredients For Chocolate Cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 11/2 cup maida or plain flour
  • 2 tsp level baking powder
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 11/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • pinch of soda-bicarb
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

For Frosting:

  • 4 slabs(40 gms each) of dark chocolate(Bournville)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 tbsp (level) icing sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk / thin cream

Method:

1. For the cake , sift maida, cocoa, baking powder and soda.Keep aside.
2. Beat eggs and sugar with an egg beater or hand mixer until white and frithy and the volume increases by 4 times.
3. Add oil gradually, beating all the while. Add vanilla essence. Mix well. 
4. Fold in the maida, using a wooden or metal spoon by cut and fold method. Mix gently. Add maida in 2-3 batches.
5. Grease and dust an 8" cake tin. Transfer the prepared mixture to the greased tin.
6. Heat oven to 200 degree. Bake the cake for 35-45 mins. or till the cake is baked. Check by inserting a knife.
7. Remove from oven. Unmould and cool on a cake rack for frosting. 
8. For the frosting, break the chocolate pieces. Place in a small saucepan over boiling water until chocolate melts. 
9. Stir in the icing sugar, milk or cream. Remove from heat, beat till smooth.
10. Cut the cake into half. Spread some of the frosting over the lower layer of the base cake, place the top half back on the frosting. Press gently. 
11. Spread the remaining over the top and sides of the cake. Coat well. Decorate the cake with chocolate curls and fresh mint sprigs.
