Trifle Pudding

This was my first attempt of trifle pudding. It looked and tasted really yummy. This is a traditional delicious English dessert. It is usually made by layering sponge cake, custard, fruits, cream and sometimes jelly. Hope you like it ! (And don't forget to comment or subscribe! Njoy!)

Trifle Pudding


Ingredients:


  • Sponge cake - 1
  • Fruit jam - 2 tbsp
  • Biscuits - 6/7 (crushed)
  • Seasonal fruits - 1 cup (chopped)
  • Whipped cream(sweet) - 200 gms

For custard:


  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Boiled milk - 2 cups
  • Vanilla custard powder - 4 tsp

Method:

1. Dissolve milk, sugar and custard powder, in 2 tbsp of milk/water and microwave for 5 mins. at 70% power. Allow to cool.
2. Cut the cake from the centre into 3 layers.
3. Arrange vanilla sponge in a pudding dish, apply jam and spread custard. 
4. Sprinkle fresh cut fruits. Arrange two layers of sponge cake on top. Spread whipped cream and decorate with crushed biscuits and tinned cherry. 
5. Allow to set in refrigerator and serve chilled.
